I’ll get all Independence Day on you!

Hello y’all! I hope you enjoyed your day of celebrating the U.S. of A.!

For most of you reading this…you probably don’t know that I have an older brother. Yup, his name is Mike…and he is a super awesome guy. We laugh at the same kind of movies and poop jokes.

My point of bringing my brother up is that he was in the Air Force Reserves. And for those of you who don’t know what it’s like to have someone in your family being in the Military…it can be a seriously stressful thing. My brother wasn’t flying the planes like they did in Top Gun…although he is pretty handsome. Just imagine how good looking I am and shave off my hair and put on about 75 more pounds of burly muscle…and there you have my brother. (He is taller than me, too…haha!). Ok, back on track…so he didn’t fly the planes…he actually fixed the airplane engines. He has been “off to war” a few times and it was some of the most heart-wrenching times of my family’s life. Thankfully, he isn’t in the reserves anymore…phew!

I’m not wanting to start a crazy debate about war…I just want to say how proud I am to have him as my brother. And when I think of being an American I think of him.
